I grew up with a large family in upstate New York and art has been the way I process the world since I was small. I would draw everywhere: on bulletins, scraps of paper, the margins of my school notebooks.
For me, my art is a way of seeing the world. Like another type of eyes, my hands and body compulsively respond to the things I see. These drawings, photographs, and videos illustrate ways I see the world.Various domestic spaces: a friend’s college apartment, my brother’s kitchen, my grandpa’s recliner etc.. Nature and shadows: the ways the light creates abstraction. There is a special sort of joy in the notice and capture of these ordinary spaces. I hope this glimpse into my own journey of seeing inspires and encourages others to rejoice in wonder of world around them. —Hannah Miller
